Usher Flight Academy1 Hour Introductory Flying Lesson

Absolutely nothing compares with taking the controls of an aircraft for the first time! At Usher Flight Academy at Sligo Airport, that’s exactly what you will do in one of our Grob G115 modern two seat aircraft, designed and built specifically for training flights.

Your experience starts with a preflight briefing, where the instructor will take you through all the safety features and controls of the aircraft. Then, seated beside the instructor in our dual control plane, you will take off and soar into the Sligo skies! The flight instructor will handle the take-off. Once airborne, you will take the controls yourself and with guidance from the instructor carry out some basic manoeuvres for a full 60 minutes of flying!

Lessons are offered 7 days a week, subject to daylight and weather conditions. Advance booking is required. You must be over 13 years of age to fly. A size restriction of a medium build and 19 stone applies. Based at Sligo Airport, Usher Flight Academy is part of Usher Aviation, Ireland's premier light aircraft maintenance company and pilot training centre. Usher Flight Academy offers professional flying lessons for all levels from absolute beginners right up to PPL (Private Pilot's License) standard.
