Everybody should try flying a plan at least once in their life! SkyWest’s Introductory Flying Lesson at Newcastle Airfield, Co. Wicklow is the perfect way to experience the unique and exhilarating thrill of flying an aircraft.
Following a 15-20 minute pre-flight briefing from our experienced flight instructor, you will board one of our purpose-built training aircraft. The flight instructor will take care of the take-off and once airborne you will be given the opportunity to take the controls yourself and with guidance from the instructor carry out some basic manoeuvres. Flying Time: 60 minutes (from engine start-up pre-take off to engine shutdown post landing).
Following your return to the airport and landing you will be presented with a Certificate of Achievement as a memento of you introductory flight. Your friends or family are welcome to Newcastle Airfield as spectators to see you take off and land and share your experience from your account of the flight. An unforgettable day for both you and them.

We operate 7 days a week during daylight hours, subject to weather. Price quoted is for 1 person. Advance booking is required. You must be over 13 years of age to fly. A size restriction of a medium build and 19 stone applies.
