Giles Norman is one of Ireland’s leading photographers, known for his distinctive collection of black and white images. Giles Norman’s portfolio ranges from traditional landscapes to bold abstract pieces – capturing delicate textures and intimate tones – and journeys beyond the wild Irish shores, capturing the city life of London, Paris, Florence, Venice, Rome and New York. Giles first began working on his portfolio in 1981. Both locals and tourists flocked to the tiny window of his Kinsale studio, which offered a glimpse into his growing collection of black and white images, and this welcome curiosity encouraged Giles to open his first gallery in Kinsale in 1988. Giles has since sold his work worldwide, and his Kinsale gallery celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2018.
