Sheridans

SHERIDANS CHEESEMONGERS was founded in 1995 by the brothers Seamus and Kevin Sheridan, when they started selling Irish farmhouse cheeses from their stall at the Galway Saturday market. They soon opened their first shop in Galway, with Irish farmhouse cheeses piled from floor to ceiling.

The Irish cheeses were joined by their European farmhouse cousins aswell as olive oils, cured meats, honeys and many other artisan foods found during their travels in Europe. The shop moved a few years later to its current location on Churchyard St, which houses a kitchen for the production of Sheridans own terrines, pestos and other homemade delicacies.

In 1997 SHERIDANS CHEESEMONGERS, joined by a third partner, Fiona Corbett, was involved in the set up of the now well-established Temple Bar Food Market in Dublin and a second shop on South Anne St in Dublin city centre followed shortly afterwards.

In August 2003, SHERIDANS opened the new WINE SHOP UPSTAIRS above the Galway cheeseshop, selling over one hundred wines, predominantly Italian (all of which are exclusive to SHERIDANS) as well as wines from France, Spain and Portugal. A smaller cheeseshop, with a selection of Irish and Continental farmhouse cheeses, wines, cured meats and other SHERIDANS products also opened in August 2003 on Pembroke Lane, off Waterloo Road in Dublin 4.

US AND OUR PRODUCTS
We are committed to sourcing excellent quality artisan products directly from the producer. Many of our farmhouse cheeses and foods are handmade locally in Ireland but we also bring back new and delicious artisan produce from our trips to Europe. Our shops reflect the seasonality of food and we can advise on which cheeses are at their peak at a particular time of year.
