The corporate event starts with an introductory talk about the sport of falconry, the types of birds used & how they are trained. You'll then move on to a flying session with a pair of Harris Hawks, where participants get to fly these majestic birds down to their own gloved fist and pose for pictures. You'll then finish with a photo session as Owls, Falcons & other birds are passed around to the guests gloved fist for pictures.
The duration of this experience is approx. 1 hr. Reasonable mobility is required. Available 7 days a week, subject to availability & weather conditions. Our falconry is situated in rolling countryside on the banks of the historic Goldmines river, less than 2 hours from Dublin city centre. It is home to a variety of birds of prey used for falconry.
Woodenbridge and its environs boast a long tradition in the pursuit of country sports and pastimes, so it is only fitting that falconry, one of the oldest of field sports, now flourishes in this most beautiful countryside.
Apart from the active practice of falconry, we offer an important educational and photographic facility where our visitors can experience these magnificent birds up close and intimate, and have the opportunity to handle a trained hawk and enjoy the thrill of seeing it flying free and returning to your gloved fist.
